VID-19 has brought to the forefront the fact that capacity management is key to providing high-quality access to care for all. Having enough ICU capacity and floor beds available, being able to continue to do elective surgery, adjusting the staff and nursing roster dynamically to avoid burnout are issues that have never been more important than now. Why do health systems find it so hard to address these issues even during "peacetime" and especially during "wartime"? Because the underlying math to match supply with demand is broken.

Existing tools and processes need to be fundamentally revamped for health systems to overcome waves of COVID-19 and similar shocks in the future in order to maximize the use of their assets to create value for patients and themselves. The key is to create a culture of innovation in the organization and deploy proven and scalable AI-driven, intelligent systems. Dig into the how and why of this digital transformation of patient experience and capacity management.
